Historical Data Agreement
This agreement applies when you access historical U.S. options data from OptionData, through the API or as downloaded files. It adds to our Terms of Service, which also apply to you.
The data
The data is historical option trade records and option chains. It is not a real-time feed.
Your use
We grant you a limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable, and revocable license to use the data for your own personal, non-professional research, analysis, and trading. You are a non-professional user only if you are not using the data for any commercial purpose and do not qualify as a professional under securities exchange rules. Use on behalf of a company or other legal entity, or for any other commercial or professional purpose, requires a separate written license. Contact support@optiondata.io before any such use.
No redistribution
You may not sell, resell, sublicense, share, publish, or otherwise give anyone else the data, in whole or in part. You may not make it available in a public-facing application, publication, or service without our prior written consent.
Your own results
You may create your own calculations and results from the data if they cannot be used to recreate the data or a reasonable substitute for it. You may not use the data to create an index, financial instrument, or investment product without a separate written license.
Keeping the data
When a subscription ends, you must stop using it and delete copies of raw data you received through it. You may keep files you bought separately for your own use under this agreement. If we end this agreement because you breached it, you must delete all copies of the data.
No guarantee and no advice
The data comes from third-party sources and is provided as is. We do not guarantee that it is accurate or complete. Nothing we provide is investment advice.
Changes and records
We may update this agreement, and we will ask you to accept a new version before it applies to data you receive afterward. We keep a record of the version you accepted and when. If you breach this agreement, we may end your access without a refund.
